Most people know what sun dogs are. They are small rainbows on either side or both sides of the sun, usually seen when it's extremely cold out and in the mornings. Although one day, it was so cold that they were visible almost all day. Well, I am so luck to have actually witnessed moon dogs in real life because they are a rare natural phenomenon and again, only when it's extremely cold outside. Living in Minnesota, there are lots of those in the winter. I would've never known about it if my dad hadn't called me up, all excited and telling me what he saw. His excitement got me excited so I convinced my husband to go out with me and go for a drive in the country to see moon dogs. It was absolutely incredible! I knew as soon as I saw it, I just had to paint it! It was definitely worth it going out in the bitter cold.
So when your parents call you and tell you to go look at something, it might just be worth it!
